"Phoebe's professional, friendly but firm approach... led to the fast resolution of customer queries, which assisted the Policing of this very diverse and busy environment. Winter Wonderland this year had between two and three million customers and her work contributed to a safe, well run event."

I'm most at home working in historic settings and my portfolio of events includes Christmas Markets and Wartime Weekends at Chartwell, Edwardian Garden Fetes at Emmetts Garden and being in the team for Festival of History and the Knights Tournament at English Heritage. Working for the National Trust and English Heritage gave me a real passion for engaging with people through special events - have a look here. When it came to London 2012, Beach Volleyball at Horse Guards Parade was always going to be my dream venue - and it lived up to hopes and expectations in spectacular fashion. I'm not daunted by leaks or spiders, I know what SMC6 is and I'll always get a hot works permit...
I'm quite handy with a radio. I ran the Venue Communications Centre at Horse Guards Parade for London 2012, I volunteer in the communications team in London for the British Red Cross and I've worked with SPA Security and Events in their comms team. I'm usually found in event control room environments, liaising with the authorities and furiously logging away. I've also been part of the event liaison team at Brighton Pride and have undertaken Airwave and dispatch training with the London Ambulance Service. Music is my first love so I relish getting involved in house management roles. I've job-shadowed the wonderful Nicki, who's House Manager at the Royal Opera House, and made the very most of seeing her world and hearing her tricks of the trade. I've also worked as Front of House Manager at the 2011 Hampton Court Palace Festival. My 'house' every night for two weeks was the heart-achingly beautiful Base Court and surviving opening night with a sell-out crowd of 3,000 for Bryan Adams was one of my proudest moments.
I've always enjoyed working with third parties. I loved working with Colin and the team at Synergy Events to stage a stunning Battle of Britain Anniversary Concert at Chartwell in 2010, complete with the Central Band of the RAF and a Spitfire and Hurricane flypast. My first large-scale event as site manager was the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair at Bolsover Castle - we saw 20,000 people over two days. I've also hosted veteran car rallies and the London to Paris bike ride with BHF. I enjoy rolling my sleeves up and getting stuck in, whatever my role. Crucially, having regularly been the one responsible for the beautiful venues I've worked at and their many stakeholders (including an alpaca and a Shetland pony), I understand what's important to clients and organisers alike and have a deep respect for fantastic places, their heritage and their people.
My photo album is huge; below are just some of my favourites:
