"Working with Phoebe was a breath of fresh air! She came with a really great and enthusiastic attitude that didn't waver at all throughout the event. Polite, calm and diligent, I'd recommend her to anyone."

About Phoebe
I have nine years' experience working in events management and specialise in operational communications, customer service management and working in historic environments. I am a competent manager of teams of four to 100 plus staff and enjoy working closely with colleagues and inspiring confidence. I am a skilled project manager and have experience of delivering complex projects to time and budget.
I was a head of department at one of the National Trust’s top visitor attractions, managing a £1m+ expenditure budget and recruiting and developing a team of 30 staff and volunteers. I have experience of tendering for and managing contracts with suppliers, drawing up staffing budgets and managing payroll, and particularly enjoy recruitment and selection and working with volunteers. I am told I have the ability to ‘take my team with me’, setting a positive atmosphere, a strong sense of direction and a culture of celebrating success. I am enthusiastic, calm in a crisis and a team player who leads by example.
I enjoy leading team meetings, briefings and debriefs and am comfortable delivering training, presentations and inductions. I have also, in the past, written newsletters or used social media to keep a disparate team cohesive and motivated. Whilst I am able to work independently on projects and use my own initiative, I much prefer working as part of a team, particularly when we are working on a project or for an organisation that has strong values, such as the National Trust, the British Red Cross or London 2012. They help bring a project to life and create a sense of identity for a team.
I also have experience of working with external stakeholders, such as event producers at National Trust concerts, sports organisers at events the British Red Cross are providing medical cover for and suppliers and partners such as Airwave and Justgiving. I enjoy building strong professional relationships and receive good feedback from those I work with.
I am a very strong communicator and am able to communicate clearly and concisely, be it when training or over a radio. I am used to adapting my tone and style to suit my audience and acknowledge the need to use a firm but fair tone with suppliers or contractors whilst retaining a friendly, warm and inspiring tone with my closest team members. My work in medical dispatch with the Red Cross has enabled me to hone my questioning and listening skills, so that I am now expert at funnelling information, guiding a dialogue, challenging misleading information to ascertain the one source of truth and dispelling any ambiguity. I am a keen linguist and musician and am able to take on new information quickly and retain it well. I have also acted as a spokesperson for the National Trust and English Heritage and have undertaken media training.
I am a competent administrator and a proficient user of MS Office, Internet Explorer and in-house databases, design software and financial reporting systems. I manage my time well by creating project plans and daily to-do lists and enjoy knowing what I need to achieve and meeting these goals. Working in high pressure situations, such as the Red Cross communications vehicle at an event has taught me to make difficult decisions and I have developed a tenacity and confidence that allows me to deal with stressful situations.
I bring a great deal of experience and energy to all I do and strive to embrace opportunities and challenges. I am motivated, conscientious and ambitious and, above all else, enjoy working effectively with people to overcome problems and exceeding expectations. I am professional and polite and a real ‘people person’ who enjoys working with colleagues and clients from all backgrounds, whether in a permanent team or on a freelance basis. I am proud of all I have achieved and feel a sense of loyalty to and enthusiasm for the superb organisations I have worked for.
